Which Disney World Resorts Have Gingerbread Displays?
From decorations to special treats, Disney resorts are extra magical during the holiday season, especially with their larger-than-life gingerbread displays! Disney’s pastry teams began working on the gingerbread displays back in May, starting with the dough. After a two-month curing process, the pastry chefs shaped and baked the dough during the summer and then stored it until early November. While no dates have been announced for when these gingerbread displays will be complete for 2023, you can look forward to seeing the finished products around mid-November. Cast members start disassembling them at the beginning of January.
This year, six Disney World resorts will feature gingerbread displays. Here’s where you can find them.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
The gingerbread display is typically located in the lobby of Jambo House. The display has changed slightly each year but is inspired by the many animals that call Animal Kingdom Lodge home, such as a giraffe and zebra.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
In the Beach Club lobby, you’ll find a gingerbread carousel that actually rotates! The theme of the carousel changes each year. In 2022, the carousel was themed after Disney princesses, including Snow White, Belle, Elsa, Jasmine and Tiana.
Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
At the BoardWalk, you’ll typically find a gingerbread display in the lobby that features the restaurants along the boardwalk. Last year, the pastry team created a gingerbread BoardWalk Deli.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
The past few years, the Contemporary Resort’s grand concourse has displayed a gingerbread castle. In 2022, the Mary Blair-inspired castle celebrated Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary and featured the gold Mickey and Minnie 50th anniversary statues.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Perhaps the most well-known of the gingerbread displays is the huge gingerbread house in the lobby of the Grand Floridian. You can purchase gingerbread cookies and other holiday treats here.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
New this year is a gingerbread display at the Yacht Club. Although no details have been released, it will be a welcome addition to the recently refreshed lobby.
It’s not too late to book a stay for the holidays! Check the confirmed reservations at Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Beach Club, BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, or Grand Floridian to be near the gingerbread displays.
