What’s Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk?

June 10, 2026
By

The BoardWalk has been looking a little emptier lately. Despite recent additions like the Cake Bake Shop, Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, and the new snack kiosk, there are quite a few vacancies. Jellyrolls, Big River Grille & Brewing Works, and the Promenade Fine Art Gallery have all closed. With the Disney website sharing that guests can expect refurbishment work at the BoardWalk now through late 2026, what is coming to these locations? Here’s what we know.

What’s Replacing Jellyrolls?

After nearly 30 years at the BoardWalk, Jellyrolls Dueling Pianos Showcase closed in April 2025. As of May 2026, the space has been completely gutted and blocked off with construction walls. We now know that the new Hurly-Burly lounge is likely to take over the space, hosting family-friendly games and trivia during the afternoon and then offering guests 21 and over live music, coastal-inspired cocktails, and light bites at night.

If you’re missing Jellyrolls, it’s been reported that they will reopen in a new location about 10 minutes away from Disney World property in late summer or early fall 2026.

What’s Replacing Big River Grille & Brewing Works?

Big River Grille closed rather suddenly in January 2024, and nothing has replaced it since. Nothing official has been announced regarding Big River Grille’s replacement, but in February 2026, dumpsters and privacy hedges were spotted in front of the restaurant, which indicated that the interior was being demolished.

With all this work to clear the space, a new tenant is expected soon. A recent filing with the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District shows that a replacement with the code name “Project Amazon” is set for the former Big River Grille location. Not much can be gleaned from the filing, but it could potentially be another restaurant, and it may very well be the new quick service location that Disney Parks Blog teased in a recent post. More details on the quick service restaurant will come later this summer.

The Promenade Fine Art Gallery, which was located right near the Village Green, closed in October 2025. As of May 2026, the gallery’s windows are still blacked out. Similar to the former Big River Grille location, a recent filing for “Project Bubbles” shows that the 2,300-square-foot retail space is going to be home to a new business in the near future. It is likely the new location of Basin on the BoardWalk. Just as with the other Basin locations in Disney Springs and the Grand Floridian, Basin on the BoardWalk will sell high end natural soaps, bath salts, bath bombs, body butter, and more. This location will offer some unique interactive elements like custom bath tea blending, make-your-own soap, and a soap embossing press for personalization.
