Staying in a Disney Bucket List Room: Saratoga Springs’ Treehouse Villas!
We all have those Disney resort rooms that we hope we’ll one day stay in but don’t fully believe that it’ll ever truly happen, right? I’m not the only one, I’m sure. Friends, I recently had the chance to stay in a Treehouse Villa with my family, and let me just say that it was everything that I wanted it to be a more. A true Disney bucket list resort room. Care to take a tour? Let me show you around!
First off, stop for a moment and savor the fact that each Treehouse Villa is a single family home. Your heavy steps around the villa after a long park day will be heard by no one but your group. That fact alone caught us off guard a couple of times, and brought us great joy when we once again realized that we were the only ones being affected by our late evening games of Sequence and Rumikub. How fun!
You’ll find three total bedrooms in the villa, and each one contains nods to your villa’s wooded environment. The primary bedroom features a queen bed and a headboard that looks like rough-hewn wood. It’s lovely and grand without being stuffy, and a wall of windows at the foot of the bed helps to make this room truly special. Guests will also find a desk, a spot to sit and take off your shoes, and a full length mirror.
The primary bathroom was just what you want from a bucket list home away from home, with one exception. A separate water closet? Check. Beautifully tiled walls and flooring that replicates a river bed? Check. A shower and jacuzzi tub combo that makes you want to forget your plans to head into a theme park? Checkity check! The only change that I would make would be to add another sink. This space is too grand for just one. That being said, this bathroom alone set the stage for a fabulous experience.
The second and third bedrooms feature another queen-sized bed and a set of wilderness-themed bunk beds, respectively. The queen room has a closet that contains the bedding for the sofa bed and fold-out chair that can be found in the living room. You’ll also find a large flat panel tv and a set of drawers.
The bunk bed room features a corner shelving unit in addition to the dresser and television. If you’re in need of a crib during your stay, you’ll find one in the closet in this room, along with a crib sheet.
The dining room/living room/kitchen area is perfect. We had six people from three generations staying together, and each of us found the space we needed when we needed it. The dining table was the perfect size for six, and if you had more guests, there are three barstools that pull up to the kitchen bar top.
The living room features a couch that pulls out to a bed that could sleep two and a chair that pulls out to a twin-sized bed. Nesting tree stump tables can be pulled apart and moved as you see fit, and a television can be found in a built-in that faces the couch.
For the first time ever, I cooked in a Disney resort room. I made two lasagnas ahead of time and brought them along for the adventure, thinking I would pop them into the oven et voilà have a piping hot meal for all six of us in the prescribed one hour. Here’s when you and I need to pack our patience: this kitchen is lovely and outfitted adequately, but as is always the case, what you find in your resort room may work differently than what you have at home. The lasagnas took twice as long in the treehouse’s oven than they would at home, but even in spite of that, the meal was savored by all.
The kitchen comes with all utensils, plates, cups and mugs, a few pots and pans, and even a food storage container or three. If you have a favorite spatula that you simply must have, be sure to throw it in your suitcase as what’s in the treehouse isn’t necessarily fancy.
You’ll also have a full-sized dishwasher and a stackable washer and dryer (in the hall closet) at your disposal, which, to me, are game changers. The treehouse is created to be all-encompassing for guests; meaning you’ll have all that you need during your stay. You can cook, clean up if you need to, and spend days in the Disney parks. Having a washer and dryer definitely helps when it comes time to pack your suitcase, that’s for sure. You’ll also find an additional full bathroom at the end of the hall by the second and third bedrooms.
I have to say that each and every cast member with which we came in contact at Saratoga Springs Resort was so kind, and did all they could to make our stay the very best. Our toaster stopped working one morning. We called the front desk to let them know, and a brand-new toaster in its box was delivered within 15 minutes. Little things like this add up to be very big things in the end.
Sooooo, the question comes to you: which resort room is on your bucket list? Staying in a Treehouse Villa was incredible, and I can’t wait to see where my Disney resort adventures take me next!
