The runDisney 2024-2025 race season dates have been announced, and there’s an all-new Halloween-themed event coming to the Disneyland Resort in September 2024.
What is runDisney?
For those of you new to the concept, runDisney is a series of endurance events that take place at Disney Resorts around the world. These races combine the thrill of competition with the magic of Disney, offering unique courses through the Disney parks with on-course entertainment, beloved characters, and Disney magic at every mile.
The 2024-2025 runDisney Race Season
The upcoming 2024-25 runDisney race season includes four onsite events at Walt Disney World Resort and two at Disneyland Resort. Additionally, runDisney offers virtual events you can participate in from almost anywhere, perfect for training for your next runDisney race or getting a taste of the magic wherever you run.
Here’s a look at the full schedule for the 2024-2025 runDisney season:
- runDisney Virtual Series: June 1, 2024 – August 31, 2024. Registration begins March 26, 2024 for everyone. This virtual series lets you participate from almost anywhere, perfect for training for your next runDisney race or getting a taste of the magic wherever you run.
- 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend: September 5-8, 2024. DVC Members can book rooms 11 months ahead, so plan accordingly. This event will feature four days of frightfully fun events, including yoga, Kids Races, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Challenge, all themed to the Halloween season. Registration begins February 13, 2024.
- Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend: October 31 – November 3, 2024. Registration begins March 12, 2024. This event combines your love for running and delicious food, culminating in a post-race party with mouthwatering dishes from around the world.
- runDisney Virtual 12Ks of Christmas: December 1 – December 31, 2024. Registration begins July 9, 2024. Celebrate the festive season with this virtual race series that you can participate in from almost anywhere.
- Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend: January 8 – 12, 2025. Registration begins April 9, 2024. The most magical race weekend of the year, featuring a variety of race distances for all skill levels.
- Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend: January 30 – February 2, 2025. Registration begins June 18, 2024. Experience the magic of Disneyland during this exciting race weekend.
- Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend: February 20 – 24, 2025. Registration begins July 30, 2024. Celebrate the princess within you at this enchanting race event.
- runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend: April 3 – 6, 2025. Registration begins August 27, 2024. The surprise element makes this weekend a must for all runDisney fans.
The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend
One of the highlights of the season is the 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend. From Sept. 5-8, 2024, the Disneyland Resort will host four days of frightfully fun events, including yoga, Kids Races, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Challenge, all themed to the 2024 Halloween season.
