Renting DVC Points: Confirmed Reservations vs. Checking Availability
At the DVC Rental Store, there are two ways to rent DVC points. You can either rent a confirmed reservation or check availability for specific dates and resorts. Which of these means of renting points works best for you?
Confirmed Reservations
These are reservations that DVC members have already booked and other guests can claim. Confirmed reservations can be the perfect way to book a last minute trip.
Normally, DVC works best when you can make plans far in advance. It can be more difficult to find room availability when you are planning a trip just a few months out or less. However, because confirmed reservations have already been booked by DVC members, you don’t have to worry about planning so far out. Just note that you can’t alter confirmed reservations. This is why confirmed reservations are a better option when you can be flexible with your dates or accommodations.
Confirmed reservations are also a great way to find discounted reservations! Be sure to filter the confirmed reservations results for discounts. You’ll find reservations with prices as low as $14 per point!
Checking Availability
If you are looking for a specific set of dates or have your heart set on a certain resort, sometimes checking availability is a better way to go. This is especially the case if you are able to plan further in advance and can put in your request at the 11-month mark.
Booking at the 11-month mark gives you the best availability to book the resort you want for the dates that you want. Putting in a request early is important if you are trying to book a resort or villa type that has fewer units like the Beach Club Villas or the Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Whether you prefer confirmed reservations or checking availability, the DVC Rental Store has great deals for you at the best Disney resorts! If you’re not sure which route is a better fit for you, contact the DVC Rental Store. Their reservation specialists can guide you.
