NEW Nighttime Spectaculars and More Announced for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary
As our good friend, Mickey Mouse, would say, “OH BOY!” Earlier today, Disney announced the premiere of two new nighttime spectaculars and so much more coming to “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”, Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary!
Without wasting any time, let’s dive right in and explore all these exciting new announcements!
“Disney Enchantment” Coming to the Magic Kingdom
Kicking off the 50th-anniversary nighttime festivities on October 1st at Magic Kingdom will be a brand new show entitled “Disney Enchantment”! Guests will be invited on a journey that inspires you to believe in magic through the use of music, enhanced lighting, and fireworks. This show will also be the first of its kind to feature projection effects that extend down Main Street, U.S.A.
Experience “Harmonious” at EPCOT
If you’ve been to EPCOT recently and glanced at the World Showcase Lagoon, you know something exciting is coming! EPCOT’s newest nighttime spectacular, “Harmonious”, will make its grand debut on October 1st as well! With fireworks, fountains, and so much more, “Harmonious will be a celebration that explores how Disney music in all languages brings us together around the world.
Animal Kingdom Takes to the Sky with New Daytime Show
Even though Magic Kingdom Park is the official home of the 50th-anniversary celebration, all four parks are getting a little more magic as part of this 18-month long event.
Premiering October 1st at the Discovery River Amphitheater at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be an all-new daytime show called “Disney KiteTails”. Several times each day, guests will get to watch as kites and windcatchers of all shapes and sizes take to the sky. These elaborate three-dimensional kites will depict some of our favorite Disney animal friends, including Simba, Zazu, Baloo, and King Louie.

We also got a better look at the sparkling “EARidescent” fashions that Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale will be wearing to celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary!
Guests will have the opportunity to see them several times each day as part of the all-new “Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade” beginning October 1st at the Magic Kingdom.
New Disney “Fab 50” Sculptures
Last but certainly not least, Disney will be debuting a series of golden character sculptures throughout all four theme parks! The “Disney Fab 50” will be revealed throughout the 50th Anniversary Celebration, starting with the first eight on October 1st at Magic Kingdom Park! More news on these will be coming soon, including more on a special and surprising way you can interact with the sculptures.
This 18-month long celebration begins on October 1st, 2021, and is expected to run through April 2023.
