‘Disney Genie’ and ‘Genie+’ Launches October 19th

October 8, 2021
By

Get ready to go inside the lamp! Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ will launch on October 19th at Walt Disney World!

Disney Genie will provide guests with an all-new digital service to create the best Disney day ever. Built into the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps, Genie will be able to help create a personalized itinerary for you and your family from attractions, food, entertainment and so much more. Tell Disney Genie what you want to do and it will make an optimized plan for your park day so that you can spend more time doing the things you love and less time standing in line.

For an additional fee of $15 per ticket per day at Disney World and $20 per ticket per day at Disneyland, guests can also purchase Disney Genie+ service! This convenient add-on option is very similar to Disneyland’s previous Disney ‘MaxPass’ service and will allow you to reserve a time to return to select attractions and experiences using the Lightning Lane entrance.

Disney previously shared these short videos all about the brand new Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ service!

Here are a few more key takeaways regarding the all-new service:

  • High demand attractions such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be available at an additional per person/per ride cost. Purchasing this access will get you into the Lighning Lane for those attractions.
  • FASTPASS, FastPass+ and Disney MaxPass services will be retired.
  • Lightning Lane selections will be made on the same day of your visit and can be used across multiple theme parks.

Also announced were some enhancements that will be coming to Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS) program:

“We are also making some enhancements to our Disability Access Service (DAS) program, including new options to enroll in the program pre-arrival and for DAS participants to select attractions directly in the app. These options will be available in addition to our existing, in-person DAS program. Visit our Services for Guests with Disabilities page DisneyWorld.com and Disneyland.com for more details.”

Today’s announcement also gave us our first look inside the attractions that will be a part of Lightning Lane:

Wondering what it may cost you to get into the Individual Lightning Lane for attractions such as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Expedition Everest, or Rise of the Resistance? Disney has shared the following sample pricing information:

“Prices will vary by date, attraction and park. For example, the Lightning Lane entrance to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be $9 per person on October 19 and $11 per person on October 23. As another example, on both those dates, Lightning Lane entrance to Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain will be $7 per person, while Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be $15 per person. Throughout the year, prices may be lower on some days and higher on other days. This option may be purchased at up to 2 different attractions each day.”
