Best DVC Rooms for Parties of 6

August 13, 2024
By

With DVC, there are lots of different accommodations for travel parties of different sizes.  However, at most DVC resorts the room capacity goes from 4 or 5 adults in a Studio or One Bedroom Villa to 8 or 9 adults in a Two Bedroom Villa.  There’s not much in between for travel parties of 6 or even 7 guests.  When traveling as a part of 6 to Disney World, what is the best DVC room for you?

The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Based on room capacity alone, the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness may be the best option.  It’s the only DVC room type that is meant for 6 guests.  These cabins have one bedroom, a full kitchen, living room, and private patio.  Starting at 15 points a night, the cabins are very economical.  One downside to the cabins is that with only one bedroom, there is little privacy.  WIthin that bedroom is a queen size bed and a bunk bed, so 4 guests sleep in that one room.  There is a Murphy bed in the living room for the 2 remaining guests.

At any of the other DVC resorts, a travel party of 6 would need to book a Two Bedroom Villa.  The Two Bedroom Villa at Old Key West is the largest one based on square footage at 1,395 square feet, yet it is one of the cheaper Two Bedrooms thanks to the resort’s low points chart.  Two Bedroom Villas start at 27 points per night. It has one king size bed, two queen size beds, a queen size sleeper sofa, and twin size sleeper sofa.

Two Bedroom Villa at Disney’s Riviera Resort

If space is important but the number of points is less of a priority, the Two Bedroom Villa at Riviera is another good choice.  It’s the second largest Two Bedroom Villa among the Disney World DVC resorts, and unlike Old Key West, it has the popular Murphy bed in the living room instead of a sleeper sofa.  Many guests find the Murphy bed more comfortable.  However, the Two Bedroom Villas at Riviera are also more costly starting at 38 points per night.
