A Look at the Dining Options at Aulani

Dining is an important part of vacation for many people, and Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, located in Ko Olina, Hawaii has some great restaurants for its guests.  Let’s go on a tour of all the culinary delights and dining options at Aulani that the resort has to savor and sip!


One of the best things about Disney’s Aulani Resort is the food. The resort has several signature dining experiences that are not to be missed. From fine dining at ‘AMA’AMA to a locally inspired buffet at Makahiki, there is something for everyone. Menus feature locally sourced ingredients, and the food is prepared with a focus on healthy eating. There are also several quick-service dining options available, including ice cream, coffee, and snacks. No matter what you’re in the mood for, you’re sure to find something to your taste at Disney’s Aulani Resort.

‘AMA’AMA – Contemporary Island Cooking is the resort’s fine dining restaurant located near the Waikolohe Valley Pool Area and features beautiful views of Ko Olina Beach.  Disney recently shared a sneak preview of the reimagined ‘AMA’AMA hinted at locally-inspired dishes.

Makahiki – The Bounty of the Islands is on the first floor of the main resort building, and it offers both breakfast and dinner.  In the morning, you can join Mickey and friends for the Makahiki Character Breakfast, a preset 3-course breakfast with an entree, pastry basket, and fruit platter.  You can also purchase PhotoPass photos or packages for this character experience.  For dinner, Makahiki serves a preset 3-course meal with a choice of starter, entree, and dessert featuring locally sourced ingredients.

KA WA’A – A LŪ ’AU immerses you in Hawaiian culture through song, dance, and storytelling as you explore Hawaii’s history of canoe exploration.  As you take in the show, enjoy a buffet dinner that includes island fish, sea salt-crusted prime rib, local produce, and dessert.  For the little ones in your party, there is also a kid-friendly bento box.  The luau takes place on the Hālawai Lawn.  Preferred Seating begins at 5:30pm with pre-show activity demonstrations, such as traditional flower arranging and pa‘i ai taro pounding.  General seating begins at 5:40pm.


Aulani Quick Service Dining

Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, is committed to providing world-class dining experiences for its guests. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, you’ll find plenty of options to suit your needs. For those in a hurry, the Quick Service dining options offer a variety of grab-and-go items that are sure to please.

Little ‘Opihi’s – Beachside Kiosk has snacks like fresh fruit, ice cream bars, and Dole whip as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Mama’s Snack Stop is in the Waikolohe Valley Pool Area and has snacks like mozzarella sticks, mini corn dog bites, and french fries as its name implies.  This walk-up spot also serves quick bites like fish and chips, coconut shrimp, and chicken tenders.

Pāpālua Shave Ice is right by Mama’s Snack Stop and has shave ice with a variety of different bases and flavors, so you can create your own combination! Bases include shave ice, ice cream, and condensed milk.  Flavor options are mango, pineapple, coconut, lilikoi, orange, guava, and more.

Ulu Cafe can be found on the first floor of the resort near the Wailana Pool.  It is more like your typical quick service spot with grab-and-go options like breakfast, sandwiches, desserts, and rotating specialties. You will also find some dishes with more of a Hawaiian flair, such as poke bowls.  There’s also a marketplace with pre-packed snacks like dried fruits, macadamia nut cookies, and candy.  If you take your food to the covered patio, you can enjoy the ocean view.


Bars and Lounges

Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Ko Olina, Hawaii is the place to enjoy some much-needed grown-up time. With a variety of bars and lounges on offer, there’s something to suit every mood. For stunning ocean views and cocktails to match, head to ‘The ‘Ōlelo Room. If you’re looking for somewhere to dance the night away, check out the hip ‘Ulu Café & Bar. However you choose to spend your time at Aulani, there’s no doubt that its bars and lounges will add an extra touch of magic to your stay.

Off the Hook is a poolside lounge themed as a Hawaiian fisherman’s seaside shack. It is located in the Waikolohe Valley pool area.  The lounge offers ocean views and serves burgers, sandwiches, salads, braised short rib, a Hawaiian bento box, tropical cocktails, local beers, and wine.  

The ‘Ōlelo Room is a lounge with an outdoor patio located on the first floor of the main building. The lounge pays tribute to the Hawaiian language, from its wooden carvings to the Hawaiian music played on the patio.  Enjoy the live music as you savor kālua pork gratin, sushi, sashimi, sliders, wings, sake, cocktails, local beers, and wine.

Wailana Pool Bar is open to guests 18 and older.  From 6am to 10:30am, the bar serves specialty coffees.  Later in the day, the bar offers burgers, tacos, flatbreads, and starters with a Hawaiian twist.  You can also find cocktails, beer, and wine.
