A Closer Look at the Villas at Disneyland Hotel
The long-anticipated Villas at Disneyland Hotel officially opened on September 28! The newest DVC resort is located near Downtown Disney and features a wide range of accommodations from the two-person Duo Studios to the Three Bedroom Grand Villa that sleeps up to 12 people. Now that the new resort has opened, here is a closer look at some of the details that make the Villas at Disneyland Hotel so special!
Delightful Details in the Villas
Disney previously shared the concept art and theming for the new villas, but they are even prettier in real life! The villas all have vibrant colors that reflect the color palettes of various animated movie themes, including “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Jungle Book,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Frozen,” “Fantasia,” “Bambi,” and “Moana.”
Aside from the color palettes, there are lots of subtle details woven into the decor. For example, the rooms themed to “Sleeping Beauty” have the three fairies along the bathroom mirror. You will also notice that the themed bed headboards in the Deluxe Studios and larger villas light up. The tiles behind the TV not only add texture and dimension but have symbols reflective of the movie. The rooms really balance the modern style and function of a deluxe resort with a touch of Disney magic!
Beautiful Artwork in the Common Areas
In addition to the wonderful details found in the villas, you will find lots of animation-inspired artwork throughout the lobby and common areas of the resort. Upon entering the lobby, you will see a mural by Lorelay Bové, associate production designer of “Encanto,” that features over a dozen vignettes of Disney animated films and several hidden Mickeys. There is also a Sleepy Beauty Castle mosaic near the entrance of the lobby that is composed of photos of DVC members!
Steamboat Willie-themed Splash Pad
Families with little ones will love the resort’s splash pad, featuring the mouse who started it all! The splash pad at the Palette Pool has Mickey at the helm of his steamboat. You’ll notice the steamboat sprays mist from its pipes. Be sure to visit the splash pad at different times of the day. As the sun goes down, the splash pad magically changes from black and white to color!
