Part 1   /  Part 2

The most obvious and grand addition to California Adventure is Cars Land on the east side of the park. This recreation of Radiator Springs is a place all its own, complete with restaurants, shops, and attractions. If you’re there long enough, you may even run into Lightning McQueen or Mater! This car-mazing duo makes appearances in front of the Cozy Cone Motel and are nice enough to let their fans take photos with them.

Cars Land

The most in-demand attraction in Cars Land is the Radiator Springs Racers. If you plan on getting a FastPass for this high-speed immersive ride, plan on getting there early. They run out quickly and the wait time is soon over an hour. There is the Single Rider option if your group doesn’t mind splitting up, but this attraction is so popular the Single Rider line has its own wait time. This ride is definitely worth the wait, however. The animatronics are the best I’ve seen in either park and, when you’re not speeding through the course racing the car next to you, you’re submerged in an adventure in Radiator Springs with all of your favorite characters. This is my favorite attraction in Cars Land and it never fails to disappoint. (40” height requirement.)

Luigi’s Flying Tires is a fun bumper cars-like attraction with a 32” hight limit. This is a fun ride for all ages and allows for interaction with other park guests as you twist and turn and run into each other. As an added bonus, beach balls appear in the final minute of the ride and guest are allowed to pass them to each other.

Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree is another fun ride in which you ride in a tractor and move to square dance music sung by Mater himself. This is another 32” requirement attraction.

There is a variety of unique eateries in Cars Land for you to try. For snacks, Fillmore’s Taste-In is a great place to pick up some fruit, vegetables, chips, and drinks. The Cozy Cone Motel is a fun experience. The snack stands are set up like giant safety cones that act as “motel rooms.” Each cone has a different menu including churros, ice cream, chili, and popcorn (flavored and regular). There is also a small Southwest-style breakfast menu.

The last is a large restaurant called Flo’s V8 Café. This cafe is unique to both parks as it offers a 50s style diner and a home-cooked meal selection. They offer an American-style breakfast in the mornings. For lunch and dinner, there are many healthy selections including roast beef, traditional turkey dinner, and salads.

Enjoy the new Mater-tastic world of Cars Land and don’t forget to fill up your tank as you race through California Adventure!
