The Very Merriest Schedule

November 7, 2021
By

On November 8th, Magic Kingdom will unveil its newest after-hours event, Disney Very Merriest After Hours.

Park officials just announced the schedule for the event, and you’ll want to know it. Here are the details…

The Basics of Very Merriest

Disney will host this four-hour event on several nights between now and December 21st.

If you’re just hearing about the event, you’re already late for several dates. Magic Kingdom has already sold all its tickets for November 9th, 11th, 16th, and 18th, plus December 21st.

As I type this, 19 nights remain, although you should know about a ticket price increase in play.

Annual passholders and card-carrying DVC members may buy tickets for $179 (plus tax) for the following nights: November 8th, 12th, 14th, and 19th.

Everyone else will pay $189 (plus tax) for those nights. From November 21st through December 17th, tickets for the after-hours event cost either $209 or $229.

The other night with current availability, December 19th, costs $249 (plus tax).

Please understand that Disney doesn’t offer any discounts for events from November 21st through December 19th.

So, you’ll pay substantially less if you can attend over the next 12 days. Overall, the pricing continues Disney’s recent trend of charging more while selling fewer tickets.

The crowd control improves guest satisfaction, although it does price some guests out of attending.

That’s Disney’s current m.o., perhaps best demonstrated by Lightning Lane and Disney Genie+.

Since the Very Merriest is technically new, we didn’t know the schedule previously. However, everyone assumed it would work similarly to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP).

Those beliefs aren’t entirely accurate. Here’s what we know. Magic Kingdom will introduce a new show entitled Mickey and Minnie’s Very Merry Memories Stage Show.

During the after-hours events, cast members will perform this show on the Cinderella Castle stage at:

  • 9:25 p.m.
  • 10:35 p.m.
  • 11:45 p.m.
  • 12:50 a.m.

Everything else at Magic Kingdom will feel familiar to guests who attended Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

To wit, Tomorrowland will once again host the kid-friendly Club Tinsel Dance Party from 9 p.m. through 1 a.m. nightly. It’s this:

Another returning favorite is Reindeer Wranglers at Adventureland. You can catch this Disney hoedown at:

  • 9:25 p.m.
  • 10:30 p.m.
  • 11:40 p.m.
  • 12:35 a.m.

Here’s a clip from a past performance, which makes me a bit embarrassed to be from Tennessee:

Also, here’s a slightly longer clip for Country Bears (and fiddle) fans:

In even better news, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will return. You can catch the parade at 9:45 p.m. and 12:05 a.m.

This one’s return seems similar to Boo to You in that Disney had to bring this back. Otherwise, fans would have rioted.

Speaking of which, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show debuted two years ago.

Unlike Happily Ever After, it will return this holiday season. Magic Kingdom will host this event each night at 11:15 p.m.

So, even if you’re not attending Very Merriest, you can watch the fireworks from other spots on the Disney campus.

Here’s a quick reminder of their beauty:

I looove this soundtrack. PS: Disney Enchantment will apparently also play.

Other Things to Know about Very Merriest

As with MVMCP, guests at Very Merriest will receive some free drinks and snacks.

The official site lists the following as options: “ice cream novelties, popcorn, select beverages and a seasonal treat.”

Historically, hot cocoa and Christmas cookies have been available. I expect the same this year but won’t know for sure for a couple of days.

Obviously, Disney will sell some novelty food and beverages for the event as well…and some sweet, sweet merch.

Holiday ride overlays will also return for this event. However, Disney has only indicated Monsters Inc, Laugh Floor and Jingle Cruise thus far.

There’s been no mention of Space Mountain, which means it’s probably a no-go. Here’s a past video to remind you of its holiday excellence:

Finally, Disney will offer some special engagement Magic Shots during the after-hours event.

Those are always wildly popular on social media. So, make sure to take some of them!
